Hotel de Plantage is an ideal base in the green, rural district of Commewijne. Here you'll find peace and tranquility in a delightful setting. The beautiful garden was carefully landscaped by owner Pieter. When he opened the hotel around 2005, he collected tree seeds from various locations and planted them in the garden. The garden has now grown into a tropical oasis where numerous birds come to forage and nest. Monkeys have even become familiar with Pieter's garden, where they find a variety of palm fruits that they love.

ACCOMMODATIONS
Resort Hotel-Restaurant de Plantage consists of eight comfortable cottages for 2-4 people and four 2-person apartments. The accommodations feature a double bed, a spacious shower/toilet with hot water, air conditioning and a fan, coffee/tea facilities, and a refrigerator. Each has a private terrace with a hammock and patio furniture. The 4-person cottages have two separate bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with two single beds.
The restaurant
In the restaurant at Hotel De Plantage, you're welcome every morning for a breakfast buffet, a light lunch later in the day, and dinner in the evening. All dishes are internationally oriented, but prepared with Surinamese ingredients whenever possible. The restaurant offers 360-degree views of the grounds.
Garden tour
During your stay at Hotel de Plantage, Pieter will take you on an extensive walk through the beautiful garden and a section of the jungle. Pieter is a knowledgeable expert on the various trees, shrubs, and birds that inhabit the area. The diverse palm fruit collection also makes squirrel monkeys and capuchin monkeys welcome visitors to Pieter and his crew's garden.
Small-scale and involved
Hotel de Plantage is not part of a larger organization or chain. Together with his permanent crew who have been involved for years, Pieter runs everything on his own strength and passion.
