The Jungle Medicine course is the newest course from Outdoor Medicine . The course takes place in the beautiful, largely pristine tropical rainforest of Suriname. It is an exhilarating and very comprehensive course where medical knowledge and skills related to surviving in the jungle take center stage. For a week, you will be (figuratively, and sometimes literally) immersed in the jungle during various activities, lectures, workshops, and scenarios.
In the medical field, a range of topics will be discussed, such as infectious diseases, hyperthermia, injuries and dangerous flora and fauna.
In addition to the medical topics, everyone will also learn in a practical way about living and moving in the jungle and get to know the local population.
The course is given by instructors from Outdoor Medicine in collaboration with Suriname Holidays and experienced Surinamese guides.
