After years of research and thorough preparation, author presents Eric Kastelein proudly publishes his book Face to face with Paramaribo.
Eric's love for Suriname and his interest in history were the impetus for collecting the information for his book. He has for Face to face with Paramaribo the often forgotten history of as many statues, plaques, busts, memorial stones and signs as possible has been outdated and recorded.
The book is divided into 11 chapters:

Each memorial is discussed in detail, complete with photos, the name of the artist, material, location, unveiling date and special facts.

The author
Eric Kastelein (1954) is a historian and worked for many years as a marketing manager in the business world. He also completed the History Teacher Training Course at the Windesheim High School. He researched his ancestors and published the results in the book Along the Wagonmaecker track. A family history from 1600 to the present. Since 2010 he has visited Suriname annually.
