'NJAN SWITI' COOKING WORKSHOP

Learn all the secrets of Surinamese cuisine

Do you like cooking and want to take a look at the rich Surinamese cuisine? Then our cooking workshop 'Njan Switi' is really something for you! The Surinamese cuisine has the influence of all different population groups very diverse and tasty dishes on the menu. Roti from the Hindustani kitchen, crispy spring rolls, fried cassava (telo) and tasty bami from the Javanese. Unknown to many: pom, a casserole with a Jewish origin. And not to forget the moksi alesi and moksi meti as a Creole contribution.

In this workshop you will get to know the Surinamese kitchen in detail. First you will visit the colorful market where you will do the shopping for your dish together with Aunt Elfriede. Quite an experience! Then you will dive into the kitchen with her and prepare the dish under her guidance. The meal will then be enjoyed together.
