We were glad that Mart's mobility was taken into account.
We had a wonderful holiday.
Amatopo It was great, and it was good that you recommended it.
What we found a pity was that the local guides were not bird guides. They had no binoculars. Apart from the giant otter, we did not see any other animals.
Anaula It was worth the effort. Fortunately, there was a good guide who knew a lot about birds and other animals as well. Here too, they adapted the program to our needs.
The guide at Bigi Pan didn't know much about birds and didn't have binoculars either.
He did show us snakes.
It was definitely worth staying here. The accommodations and surroundings were very good.
What was less good: The PlantationNo maintenance has been carried out for a long time. We found this place less successful. The owner gave an educational tour of the tree species.
Warungs can only be reached by taxi. The owner thought it strange that we wanted to eat somewhere else and had arranged an expensive taxi. We could only buy water in small bottles, and they were expensive.
Pepperpot The food was expensive and the service unfriendly. Located too far from other eateries. The accommodation was good. The nature park was beautiful and easily accessible by bicycle. We were unable to get a modified evening walk. Only through Orange Travel, and they asked €165 pp. Naturally, we didn't do that.
Palulu: The cabana was very small. The bed barely fit, leaving little room for luggage. The accommodation was very noisy. We could literally hear the neighbors. And the cabanas were packed very close together. We discovered on our own that we could walk around to the creek. It's a shame there was so much trash lying around. Maintenance hadn't been done in a long time.
The owner wanted to charge us for lunch twice. We wanted to go for an evening walk, but that was not possible on that day. We were also not told that we could wander around on our own.
The Savanna tour was very good. The guide knew a lot about birds and the area. He was a pleasant person.
There was some confusion about the day we were supposed to have the Commewijne excursion. The date was incorrect, and as a result, we missed it. Fortunately, an alternative was found, and we saw the dolphins in any case. And we visited Fort Nieuw Amsterdam.
But above all, we had a fantastic holiday. And were able to take beautiful photos, especially of nature. Enjoyed beautiful Suriname.
