In 1990, I had just graduated from the Netherlands and moved to Suriname. I knew nothing about the country, just knew where it was. Almost immediately I lost my heart to the country. I have seen and especially learned a lot from Suriname. Living in a very diverse cultural society is something I enjoyed the most, besides the overwhelming and fascinating interior. I returned to the Netherlands in July 2018. By strengthening the Suriname Holidays team, I may have left Suriname, but Suriname has not left me! I know the country, its people and the different cultures well and hope to contribute with my knowledge to your best Suriname experience.

Living and working

Shortly after our first visit to Suriname (September 2014) we stopped by Suriname Holidays to have a chat and show a few photos. We made no secret of our enthusiasm about the wonderful holiday trip, and so we were asked if we would like to help out in their stand at the Vakantiebeurs for one or two days in January. So to speak, as a kind of living review. We did that, with great pleasure. Because what's more fun than showing your own enthusiasm and trying to convey that to others.
