  • jungle walk
  • spotting wildlife
  • 2- or 3-day trip

Programme

In the morning, you will depart from the office in Paramaribo. Before departure, you will receive a short introduction and a cup of coffee. After about a 1,5-hour drive, you will arrive in the indigenous village of Powakka. Here, Mr. "Kleine" will tell you more about the lives of the indigenous people of Suriname and their food culture. The main ingredient of the indigenous diet is the cassava. This originally South American savanna plant grows well in the jungle and can withstand the wet and dry periods in the tropical rainforest. You can go to Mr. Kleine kasiri and taste cassava chips.

SUP and swimming
After stopping at Mr. Kleine's, you'll board the boat to Seliba River Glamping, located near the village of Ayo. The boat trip takes about 40 minutes. At Seliba, you don't have to do anything, but you can do it all. SUPs are available for a ride, but you can also relax and cool off by the pool.

Jungle walk
Together with your guide, you'll embark on a hike in search of the animals native to this area. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also join the evening hike and, armed with a headlamp, admire the jungle at night. If you're feeling less adventurous, relax by the campfire, chill in the hot tub, or play a game in the lounge.

Howler monkeys, toucans and macaws
In the morning, you'll likely wake to the sound of howler monkeys. These monkeys live on the islet across from Seliba. Every morning, it's a veritable concert of monkey howls and birdsong. Seliba is a great location for spotting many birds, such as toucans, macaws, and hummingbirds. Join your guide for a walk to learn more about Suriname's flora and fauna. You might encounter monkeys meandering along the way. After lunch, it's time to leave. You'll return to Ayo by boat, where the car awaits to take you back to Paramaribo.

Fully enjoy?
Then choose a 3-day stay. You can then coordinate more activities with the guide and take a longer walk in the jungle. Definitely a good idea if you want to travel on to another location, such as Fredberg, then we can connect these trips well with each other.
