Anaula Nature Resort is a beautiful and well-maintained resort on the Upper Suriname River, on an islet in the Ferullasi Falls.
The lodges, which sleep 2 to 5, have spacious verandas, are tastefully decorated, and each features a private veranda overlooking the river or the jungle. All lodges have basic bathrooms with a shower/toilet (hot water) and air conditioning. Meals are included in the price and are served in the restaurant, which also has Wi-Fi.
The spacious swimming pool, with multiple pools and comfortable loungers, is the ultimate place to relax with the sounds of the jungle in the background. Several covered hammock huts have also been built on the property overlooking the river, and at various locations, when the water level is favorable, you can enter the water from a platform to enjoy the rapids.
There's fun play equipment for little ones to climb on. And feeding the monkeys on the island in the morning will be the highlight of many children's day. Excursions from the resort will focus on the Saramaccan people of the area.
For a good balance between relaxation and exertion, you can take various trips by canoe or embark on a fascinating and educational guided jungle walk. Cool off in the pool or sunbathe on the sundeck, of course! There's also plenty to do in the evenings, such as an exciting night boat trip.

Programme
You can take 3- to 5-day trips to Anaula Nature Resort. During your stay, each day will be filled with excursions to surrounding Maroon villages, hikes in the area, and visits to nearby agricultural plots. There's also the opportunity to swim in the river and enjoy the natural jacuzzis in the rapids. Several times a week, a cultural dance show is performed. Of course, there's still plenty of time to relax on the veranda of your own cottage or in one of the hammocks on the island. At the resort, you can also relax by the large swimming pool, on sunbeds or lounge chairs in the water. This resort is not only a unique location to learn more about the local people and Maroon culture, it's also a wonderful place to unwind.
